The Claire Woodwind series is a collection of the best virtuoso woodwind soloists that have ever been sampled. These are very playable instruments, filled with genuine emotions, requiring no effort or balancing act. Our virtuoso piccolo is the most expressive, playable and realistic bassoon ever sampled.

The virtuoso piccolo flute was recorded in the symphony hall and contains three microphone positions (close, decca, far). The core of the bassoon is its highly developed legato system, which contains both slow and fast legato. The legato system allows you to play legato with impassioned arches, sustains, staccatissimo, expressive marcato and more. We’ve recorded arcs with both no vibrato and medium to strong vibrato, so you can freely shape your performance from subtle to bright. In addition, we’ve also added trills, jogging, staccatissimo, and even non-tonal effects such as breathing, valve sounds, and natural clicks.

The Claire Piccolo Flute Virtuoso contains three microphone positions (Close, Decca, Wide). Everything was sampled at 96Khz, providing unprecedented detail in the sound and revealing details that would otherwise have been lost at lower resolutions. You can hear the warmth of the instrument, reflections of the room, the air and all the tiny, little details so often missed.

The Claire Piccolo Flute Virtuoso is based on a highly intuitive, playable and expressive legato system. We sampled a variety of different types of expressive sustains and arcs that are all connected to the legato system, so you can go between sustain types that are gentle (p-mp) to strong (f-ff) or sustain types with less or more vibrato.
